English: Alexander Dennis is a British bus and former fire engine builder formed in 2004, after the purchase of most of the former TransBus International from administration. Alexander Dennis applied its brand to all the former TransBus products it inherited, meaning some models were now onto their third brand name, passing between Alexander or Dennis, to Transbus, to Alexander Dennis. This included the Enviro range of buses introduced by TransBus, with the Enviro200 (full size), 300 & 500 models, with Alexander Dennis contining production of the 300 & 500 and going on to introduce more models, the Enviro200 (Dart) & 400. The only TransBus parts not purchased initially by Alexander Dennis was the Plaxton brand of coaches and minibuses, which had been sold instead to its management, who reinstated the former Plaxton brand name from TransBus. Alexander Dennis had retained the former Plaxton/Transbus Pointer midibus model. Alexander Dennis then purchased Plaxton in 2007 reuniting all the former TransBus companies, but retained their separate relaunched Plaxton identity. Also in 2007 Alexander Dennis ceased the Dennis Fire fire engine production it had inherited from TransBus.
