English: The Alcazaba of Reina is a hilltop fortification located near the village of Reina in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. The walls and towers seen today were built in the 12th century by the Moorish Almohad military but remains found inside the citadel show that this hillside had been inhabited by sevral peoples since ancient times with the oldest artefacts dating back to the Bronze age. Also found on the site construction material and pottery of Roman origin have been uncovered. Material from the Visigoth period have also been found. The main feature of what is here today are the walls and towers of the Moorish Alcazaba. The fortress was taken into Christian control in the 13th century.
