"AGO" = "Aviatiker Gustav Otto", meant is Gustav Otto (1883-1926), son of Nikolaus Otto, the creator of the four-cylinder combustion engine ("Otto-Motor")

The "AGO Flugzeugwerke", Munich were founded in 1909; re-called in "Gustav Otto Flugmaschinenwerke", Munich in 1911; with a production branch in Johannisthal (Berlin-Johannisthal) ("AGO Flugmaschinenwerke Johannisthal", founded 1912 with Elisabeth Woerner and Hermann Fremery as directors); later branch in Oschersleben; bankruptcy 1916; unification bankruptcy mass and "Rapp Motorenwerke" to the "Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG" (BFW) in 1916 as one of the predecessors of the contemporary automobile producer "BMW". Original Supreme Engineers and constructors at AGO were Gabriel Letsch and August Haefeli.
