English: The New Zealand Native football team was a group of sportsmen that toured the British Isles, Australia, and New Zealand in 1888 and 1889; playing over one-hundred rugby football matches, but also several Victorian (Australian) rules football and association football matches in Australia. The team was composed mainly of players of Māori ancestry, although several Pākehā (non-Māori) were included in the squad. The tour was a private endeavour, and was not an official representative team.
