Şehriye is a kind of pasta/noodle from Turkey which comes in two types, and generally used in two sorts of dishes. These are "arpa şehriye" (similar to orzo) and "tel şehriye" (similar to capelii di angelo); both kinds are used to make soup and to add to "pilav" dishes (made of rice or bulgur). Arpa şehriye is also used to make an exclusive (without rice or bulgur) pilav dish in Turkey, especially to accompany Ankara tava instead of a typical rice pilaf.
