English: £sd (pound, shilling, penny, also abbreviated L.s.d.), was an English-language form of the Carolignian currency system, a non-decimal currency system popular in Europe for a millenium. It was used by the pre-decimal British coinage and Irish pre-decimal system prior to Decimal Day 1971, and in other former British colonies also.
