English: Albert (April 23 1828 - June 19 1902) was a King of Saxony (1873 - 1902) of the House of Wettin. Born Friedrich August Albert in the Saxon capital Dresden, he was the eldest son of Prince en:John of Saxony, who succeeded his brother en:Frederick Augustus II on the throne as King John in 1854. In 1871 King Albert was the first non prussian Generalfeldmarschall in the Prussian army. Albert had a successful military career leading Saxon troops which participated in the en:First War of Schleswig, the en:Austro-Prussian War, and the en:Franco-Prussian War. His reign as king was largely uneventful.
Deutsch: Friedrich August Albert Anton Ferdinand Joseph Karl Maria Baptist Nepomuk Wilhelm Xaver Georg Fidelis (* 23. April 1828 in Dresden; † 19. Juni 1902 in Sibyllenort, Schlesien) war von 1873 bis 1902 König von Sachsen. Er heiratete 1853 de:Carola von Wasa-Holstein-Gottorp (1833–1907).
