《建国大业》讲述了从抗日战争结束到1949年中华人民共和国建国前夕发生的一系列故事，主线是第一届全国政协会议的筹备，突出了当时多党合作以及政治协商制度形成。影片再现了毛泽东、蔣中正、周恩来、宋庆龄、宋美龄、蒋经国、李宗仁、李济深、张澜、蔡廷锴、冯玉祥等众多历史人物以及他们的活动，摆脱了单纯歌颂毛泽东和中国共产党的模式。
The Founding of a Republic ( 建国大业) is a Chinese film released on September 17, 2009 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party's rise to power, and the founding of the People's Republic of China.
