Barnstar
[edit]Hi Sun Creator. I'm always happy to help. I appreciate your thanks, and, since I'm rather partial to barnstars, I added one to your post on my talk. Let me know what you think of it. ;) INeverCry 01:23, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- I'm glad you liked that Commoner's barnstar we gave me. ;) Thank you. In future, when you want to give people a barnstar, here's how: The easiest way is to go to "My preferences", click on "Misc", and check the box next to "Enable showing appreciation for other users with the WikiLove tab". This will cause a little heart to be shown at the top of the page when you view user/talk pages, and will give barnstars etc with an automatic process. You can also give them manually by copy and paste from Commons:Barnstars. Anyways, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask me, as long as it's not too technical or complicated. ;) (JK - if I can't help, I'll direct you to who can.) INeverCry 01:58, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
A or an
[edit]Hi, thanks for you rename requests. I see that using a i.s.o. an or an i.s.o. a is a mistake, but it's not a mistake like a wrong year, a wrong name, etc. So I will rename the rest of your request, but it's a little on the edge of declining. So if you make new request with 'a' or 'an' or something like that, I will not rename them and will not decline them either, but the chance that someone else will decline it is big, i.m.o. Thanks and regards, - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 14:42, 10 December 2019 (UTC) , the Netherlands
- @Richardkiwi: , please clarify as I cannot make any sense of the above. You seem to be saying that the grammatical misuse of the indefinite article is not a grammatical mistake. But obviously that is illogical. I do not know what i.s.o. is, other than the International Organization for Standardization, so perhaps I am missingsomething. Thanks. - Instead of, I mean. It's a grammatical mistake, but there is no real need to rename it. Sometimes I think 'ok', but then another thirty files follow. It's very good that you want to correct this, but there are file movers that will decline requests like that. As I said, a wrong name, a wrong date or year, something like 'Autorrama' instead of Autorama, etc. is clear, but with very small things, it's close to declining. If I do too many renames like that, it can cost me my rename-bit ('flag'). Your intentions are good, I hope you understand what I mean now. Thanks. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 15:13, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Richardkiwi: . Okay, it seems you are saying it's trivial. Fair enough if you are not comfortable with it. If it helps, here are some recent "a to an" grammar corrections approved by various others. Special:Diff/379473281, Special:Diff/379308244, Special:Diff/379718681, Special:Diff/379678400, Special:Diff/379678437, Special:Diff/379719207.
