I see you've deleted a Valued image from this article, and you improperly used Rollback to do so- remember, Rollback is for vandalism and generally unconstructive edits, not good-faith efforts to improve Wikipedia. And it's actually much worse, because you totally ignored the blatant copyvios in the episode descriptions, blatantly lifted from advertising blurbs. Does this mean you are not prepared to do due diligence to support the policies of Wikipedia and the purpose of Commons? In which case, you present a clear and present danger to Commons at least and your future editing rights here may have to be reviewed. Rodhullandemu (talk) 00:25, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The edit to which you refer looks to be a misclick. I wasn't aware I'd even edited the article. It's not a subject I have any interest in. DrKay (talk) 10:03, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. It is a little worrying when good content is removed for no apparent reason. Rodhullandemu (talk) 10:15, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

September 2019: it's Wiki Loves Monuments time again!

[edit]

Hi

You're receiving this message because you've previously contributed to the annual Wiki Loves Monuments contest in the UK. We'd be delighted if you would do so again this year and help record our local built environment for future generations.

You can find more details at the Wiki Loves Monuments UK website. Or, if you have images taken in other countries, you can check the international options. This year's contest runs until 30 September 2019.

Many thanks for your help once more! MichaelMaggs (talk) 15:34, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DrKay: Your Wrong Edits on Wikipedia Article: Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku

[edit]

Healthy blessinsg to you: DrKay. Please, absolutely wrong is your added second paragraph on current edition of your destroyed Wikipedia Article: King Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josaiah_Ndubuisi_Wachuku

You are describing his younger brother: James Nwanjoku Wachuku, who died in 1962: "Wachuku was chair of the Northern Ngwa district council from 1958 to 1960, and was elected to the Eastern Region House of Chiefs in 1960. He died in 1962." Note that both Josaiah and James have same initials: J. N. Wachuku. King Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku died on Monday 2 January 1950.

It is so sad and heartbreaking that, without historical knowledge of subject, egoistic Wikipedia Administrators and Editors have vandalized and made a mess of this vital article on King Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku. Wisely, that last edit from: 189.146.194.105 which you reverted should be re-published; as article is fixed moving forward.

With respect and good wishes: 189.146.194.105: Blocked by you from Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 187.170.185.203 (talk) 10:20, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

King Salman Portrait

[edit]

Dear Dr.Kay,

Why have you taken down the portrait of King Salman? The work was created under the Saudi Government and according to Saudi Arabian Copyright Law (M/41 of 30 August 2003), what is published in newspapers, magazines and periodicals, or broadcasted in daily news or news-like events is not protected, meaning that this portrait is legally allowed to be used. This is his official portrait: https://www.spa.gov.sa/king-cv.ar.php

Based on the information above, the file is legal to use.

At the foot of the source you've provided there is a statement in Arabic that reads "All rights reserved". DrKay (talk) 15:32, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your Keep vote

[edit]

Thank you so much for your Keep vote on my Dad's photo. I also like the comment you put with it. I hope you can perhaps do the same with my Dad's other old photos under similar attack by the same editor. Here are the other of my Dad/s photos that he proposed for deletion.

File:View from the Nu'uanu Pali lookout, late 1959, Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii.jpg

File:Monorail ride at Rainbow Springs.jpg

File:Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in Bermuda Nov 24, 1953.jpg (not the same as the one you already commented on, but similar, I think Dad took a photo of the Queen as she left the base and again when she returned to it. The base was the island's only airfield and is now the international airport) You are right, these are family photos. My dad was an amateur photographer. It was his hobby. His profession in the Air Force was propeller mechanic. He would be over 100 if alive today. He was born on Feb 28, 1920, just missed being a leap year baby. He passed away on March 15th, 1986 at the age of 66.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

thank you for your reports, in the future I will try to be more careful for the licenses of the files of the second half of the twentieth century, excuse me, but these reports usually do not have to be made by the administrators ???--Miss Mattërn (talk) 15:08, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Doubt about permission evidence for File:Tomb of the King George VI Memorial Chapel.jpg

[edit]

Good evening DrKay. I saw that few time ago it was uploaded this photograph to Commons, firstly with a cc-by-sa-4.0 license. However, I saw that it comes from the Royal Family's official account in Twitter, and I didn't found any evidence in the permission page added by the uploader which verifies the license. After add a npd tag and inform the uploader, I saw few minutes ago that the uploader removed the npd notice and changed the cc-by-sa-4.0 license with the OGL3 one, with permission reference to the UK National Archives' OGL3 page. However, there is no evidence which verifies that this photograph is alvailable under the OGL3. For that I suspect that this could be a possible case of license laundering.

Could you please verify if this is correct? Thank you. 83.61.243.178 16:29, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Help to review the status of this file

[edit]

Hi again DrKay, I hope you're well. I'm writting you because I found the copyright status of this file partially doubtvious. I nominated it for deletion but, as I'm not very expert in UK's copyright and its procedures, I think it would be helpful if you can review that my argument is correct or if the image can be PD by another reason (which I think it wouldn't be probable because there isn't any date of creation and/or publication, only says that is a reproduction of the original 1938 painting made by Frank Owen Salisbury, who died in 1962 and whose copyright is still rulling until his death's 70th anniversary (which will took place in 2032).

Best regards and thanks. 83.61.243.178 13:21, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
