A page for me to list and review my uploads, with the aim of steadily improving them all and getting to grips with what is allowed and what isn't (seeing as things have changed in some ways since I first uploaded a picture). Current count is 279 pictures, as of 22:05, 10 July 2010 (UTC). If you would like to comment, please use the talk page.
Notes
[edit]- (1) Pictures taken in France and Bulgaria should be checked for freedom of panorama concerns. Ones in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal should be fine. Many in France are of old stuff that should be public domain anyway, but some will be borderline or not clear.
- (2) Need to double-check the pictures I didn't take, but uploaded from an archive or other free source, and improve the paperwork as in the past some of the templates available today were not available then.
- (3) Pictures I've cropped or retouched should have the details of what was changed and links to the original file. Some of the older pictures could have the paperwork improved based on more recent templates.
- (4) Several pictures are of plaques, which as 2D objects and including text, may need specific consideration.
- (5) Many pictures are of statues and works of art and architecture. Need to double-check the dates of construction for these and document this where needed.
- (6) Pictures of landscapes, animals, and natural scenery should be fine.
- (7) I mostly try to avoid taking pictures of people, but there are a few pictures that include well-known people, or show people that could be recognised. Double-check there are no issues here and apply personality rights tags if needed.
N.B. The gallery tool only shows uploads where you are the last name on the history list. For a full list of uploads, you need to use the upload log.
Questions
[edit]- (1) Personality rights - Do I need to add personality rights tag to the pictures of people that I uploaded that are in Category:London Chess Classic?

- (2) Bulgaria - I have uploaded two pictures from Bulgaria. Are there freedom of panorama concerns here? Do I need to annotate the file pages with more details to pre-empt any possible concerns?
-

-
Painting over entrance to St George church in Sozopol. Church dates from the 19th century [1], and I have presumed that the painting dates from the same period.
- (3) France - Total of 37 pictures taken in France, which are all of buildings, gravestone, statues, monuments and artworks. To pre-empt concerns, do I need to add the dates these works were erected and put on public display, and also identify those involved in the design, building and creation of these works?

- (4) Text - Plaques and signs and inscriptions and close-up details of monuments. Are these allowed?
-
Has some artistic content, but should be OK due to liberal FoP in Portugal
- (5) Miscellaneous - Are these pictures OK?
- (6) Attribution and paperwork - Have the following (not taken by me but uploaded from elsewhere) had enough paperwork filled out and are they correctly attributed and do any of the files need renaming? Also, I'm not 100% sure about the licenses on some of these, as I think I may have misunderstood which licenses the upload forms were saying I should use, particularly for the cropped and retouched pictures.
- (7) Updating templates and layout - Some of the older pictures I uploaded years ago have a different layout on the file page to that used when uploading today. If I am updating and expanding the information in those pictures, should I also update the various templates and paperwork to the newer layouts, or just leave it as it was when originally uploaded?
- (8) Adding extras - Geotagging of my pictures is something I've been intending to do for a long time. Is there a checklist of other 'extra' things I could add to my uploads at the same time, such as annotating them or things like that?
