[edit]Collaboration with the Faculty of Ciencias Sociales y de la Comunicación of the University of Cádiz is part of the initiative to involve the students of the Publicity and Public Relations Degree in the Wikimedia Movement's projects and goals.
Introduction
[edit]Several students of the University of Cádiz who study the Publicity and Public Relations Degree of the Faculty Ciencias Sociales y de la Comunicación of the Jerez's Campus, are enrolling the course Herramientas Multimedia y Animación (Multimedia Tools and Animation). One of the activities that this course covers is to elaborate models, 2D or 3D animations for Wikipedia articles and publish them on Commons in collaboration with Wikimedia España.
Some gaps has been identified on the available multimedia elements on Commons, such as images which are difficult to obtain for free due to the copyright restrictions, as well as videos which can not be performed because is very complicated to record them. This project provides the students the opportunity to model the objects of these images, to recreate on an animation the same information as those videos that are so hard to obtain, as well as to work on a professional commission and make their work known. This way they are going to be part of the Commons community of graphic authors.
