English: The National Archives Building, known informally as Archives I, located on Constitution Avenue in the Federal Triangle area of Penn Quarter, Washington, D.C., is headquarters of the United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Built 1931–1937 and designed by architect John Russell Pope, Archives I holds the original copies of the three main formative documents of the United States and its government: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
