Pin numbering

[edit]

It might be good to add pin numbering to this drawing as well, for consistency with the remaining USB plug/connector SVG drawings. It would be "1 2 3 4 5", the same order as on File:USB Mini-AB receptacle.png as both Mini-B and Mini-AB receptacles accept the same Mini-B plug.

At the same time, as a small suggestion, it might be better to have the pin numbers slightly smaller all around, if you agree and if changing that wouldn't take too much time. Also, it might be good to make those pin numbers really small and place them inside the connectors, closer to the actual pins – as it is the case with some of the bitmap versions (doesn't apply to all bitmap versions, but it might have been good if they were all made like that). That way the drawings would be a bit more compact, a bit more clear regarding the relations between the pins and their numbers, and everyone who wants to see the pin numbers is anyway going to open full-size versions of drawings. Of course, that's just my humble opinion. :) — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 12:13, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As it happens I have no particular preference, in fact I was even tempted to leave the numbers out altogether as they aren't defined in the description and normally I have an aversion to numbering things when those numbers aren't explained or defined. Both types of numbering schemes have their pros and cons and, to be honest, the only reason I chose one over the other was simply down to the fact that I kept the first one I came across and kept it up across all of them simply for conformity. --Fred the Oyster (talk) 18:08, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, size of the pin numbers is just fine as-is, there's no need to change them. — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 16:04, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
