My great aunt - Auntie Grace who died aged 89 in the 1980's used to talk of her cousin " Ivy " who ran the Black Boy inn at Weeley - Must have been a Character back in those days. I think I remember an old family black and white picture of some people at the pub which was then looking very black tarred/thatched maybe - but think it was an older building perhaps since replaced. She had in her flat the old bar clock from that original pub which say's on it's bezel - Chas. Leach Crutched Friars - She passed the old clock on to me some 35 or so years ago now.
