(West) Korea(n) Bay vs. Yellow Sea

[edit]

I'm confused about the systematic of naming: Why was w:en:Yellow Sea changed to its extension w:en:Korea Bay (West Korean Bay)? The Problem: The w:en:East Korean Bay as an extension of the w:en:Sea of Japan was not replaced. Therefore, I wanna change it back to Yellow Sea, if there is no convincing reason why not. --Valentim (talk) 10:24, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yellow sea is in the south of Korea Bay (West Korea Bay). KEIMS (talk) 14:00, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure about your comment, that the Korea Bay is not part of the Yellow Sea: In w:en:Yellow Sea the West Korea Bay is explicit called an extansion of the Yellow Sea. w:en:Meyers Konversations-Lexikon says "The Korea Bay, a bay of the Yellow Sea, [...]", wich is the very same Encyclopaedia Britannica says... --Valentim (talk) 15:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So, it's ok to revert to the old version? Or did I look over something? --Valentim (talk) 10:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The concerned area in this picture is definitely Korea Bay. Usually those waters below the shangdong peninsula is called Yellow Sea. KEIM (talk) 01:33, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't disagree that this body is also called Korea Bay. I simply statet with references that the West Korea Bay is a part of the Yellow Sea and said that we should keep a uniform naming systematic on a map. Not more, not less. --Valentim (talk) 00:08, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
