Rainbow Mountain (elev. 6924 ft.) is the centerpiece of the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness which is incorporated in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Rainbow Mountain is flanked by Mt. Wilson to the south and Bridge Mountain to the north. Oak Creek Canyon and Pine Creek Canyon separate Rainbow Mountain from its neighbor peaks. This small range of mountains predominates the southern access to the the NCA along Blue Diamond Road (Rt 159). Rainbow Mountain is distinguished by its steeply sloped arrowhead shape.
