@Fry1989: could you clarify the point of your 2020 change to this file? I fail to see an improvement and find your comments pretty terse. Chealer (talk) 21:53, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Chealer: I made two changes. The first was a new code, which I was using for all the various roundel files as a whole. Admittedly in this case, it has a few more bytes than the previous version. More important was the addition of a 1px buffer around all sides of the image. I have found that when SVG images have the frame set right against the edge (a 600px image having a 600px frame), part of the image often gets "clipped" (forgive me for not having a better word to describe this phenomenon) in rendering, which is undesireable. This phenomenon seems to only happen with images with curves. For example, because one of my most recent uploads is rectangular with right edges, I have the frame set against the edge. But with this version with a curve, the bottom and right side edges were ever-so-slightly "clipped", which is why I have now also re-uploaded that image with the buffer (as well as other improvements). That has been my standard practice for many years now. Fry1989 eh? 22:54, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know SVG and its ecosystem enough to propose a more elegant solution, but I am not convinced that adding such a buffer is a good thing. Thanks for the quick reply, but in any case, I believe using clearer comments would help collaboration. Chealer (talk) 23:25, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
