Fact disputed

[edit]

Relative to the human, left of center, this debris pile is about 8 feet tall. For the structure to be created by mountain beavers weighing 1 or 2 pounds would be truly remarkable. And why the animals would construct a "dam" in the middle of a road defies the imagination. For there to be no references in the scientific literature describing such activity is even more remarkable. The image was deleted from the en:Mountain beaver page after no references were provided in response to a "citation needed" tag.  At best, this is a debris pile of unknown origin; at worst, it is a sham.
