Problem
[edit]This picture is problematic because - as an anonymous contributor noticed and kindly pointed out a couple of days ago - the grille at the front is the one that was fitted to the Morris 1100 Mk II. But the badge at the back says that it is a Morris 1300. (The uploader has generously uploaded three pictures of the car: one shows the back and one shows the front.)
Normally with cars in the UK it is possible to consult the tax collectors' database and enter the registration number in order to find out the engine size declared to the authorities when the car was registered. But this car, at the time it was photographed, was not fitted with a license plate.
The 1098cc and 1275cc engine blocs are in most respects identical. Switching engines at the front or switching badges at the back of the car would not normally represent any great technical challenge. BUT the picture is not representative either of a "standard" Morris 1100 or of a "standard" Morris 1100.
The car is photographed here in the grounds of a museum. It is probably a museum exhibit. If anyone reading this can verify the engine size ... this would be interesting. (Though it would not address the problem identified.) Regards Charles01 (talk) 06:44, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
