Telecommunications cables of this size have been replaced by fiber-optic, so my assumption is that this is a high voltage cable. The German suggests otherwise. Does anyone certainly know that this is one or the other? -J JMesserly (talk) 23:58, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately can't read the label, but for me the diameter of the drum is too small for high voltage cable of that size. Besides, have a look on the car behind the drum. It reads KMT.
