Misidentification

[edit]

This is Geranium dissectum. The image shows numerous, spreading hairs on calyxes and fruits, many of them glandular. The whitish spots at the tips of the hairs are glandular secretions. The pedicels must be quite short because a dense cluster of numerous flowers and fruits is shown. There appears to be at least one leaf close to the flowers. Geranium columbinum has long pedicels, so the leaves have some distance to the flowers and the flowers are less crowded. It is supposed to be much less hairy on the fruits. There should not be any glandular hairs on Geranium columbinum. Robert Flogaus-Faust 149.225.36.158 10:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC).[reply]
