File title

[edit]

The source has misidentified the small Tor Line freighter in the photo. It isn't the Swedish-flag TOR HOLLANDIA (that was a large passenger cruise-ferry of 7748grt). Pictured is TOR WALLONIA (IMO 5418745) of 424grt; she was built in 1963, was German-flagged, owned by Minna & Anna Helene Garms, Hamburg and chartered to the Swedish operator Tor line 1971-1975. Hi User:Davidships, if you're sure that the title is wrong that way (and I guess you are), then a title change request should be placed on the page (at the top is fine). I see that "Hollandia" should be changed to "Wallonia" but i am not sure about anything else needing to be changed. And i guess change "schwed." to "deutsch" or something. Does "Kiel 53.743 still apply? If the following title is okay, could you or I place this request on the main page here?

{{Rename|Frachter KOPALNIA KLEOFAS (poln.) und Frachter TOR WALLONIA (deutsch.) (Kiel 53.743).jpg|3|reason=Ship on left is the TOR WALLONIA, not the TOR HOLLANDIA (see Talk page for more info).}}

I believe the above request complies with instructions for renaming at COM:RENAME. When i request renames of other things, it usually takes just a few days before an admin makes the change. In my requests I try to put in specific documentation if possible. Like if you could say that you can read the writing on the side of the ship, or otherwise explain how you know the Wallonia identification is correct, then please do revise the above. --Doncram (talk) 04:22, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Realising that ship in the photo was not a large cruise ferry, but definitely had TOR LINE on the side, confirmed from registers (Miramar and others) that there were no small freighters named Tor Hollandia, but there were several with the right length second word at around the date of the image. Then a photo check which produced only one with the distinctive features of a goal-post mast, a thick mast amidships, and the curved "cut away" deck line forward - that was Tor Wallonia. Then sought confirmation here - see replies. ("Kiel 53.743" seems to be the source reference number of the photo.)
Looking at the I see that they don't include ship nationality if it is German. If you don't mind making the request, I will watch, so that I do it properly on another occasion. Davidships (talk) 11:14, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay i see those replies by "ship spotter" people at http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2826174. Also this was discussed at w:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#AFD about MS Tor Hollandia. The photo issue came up first at w:MS Tor Hollandia and w:Talk:MS Tor Hollandia#photo
Okay below is my revised request draft, dropping "deutsch" which was only my guess for how German origin should possibly appear, and with more justification/explanation. I will make the request next. --Doncram (talk) 17:17, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{Rename|Frachter KOPALNIA KLEOFAS (poln.) und Frachter TOR WALLONIA (Kiel 53.743).jpg|3|reason=Ship on left is the TOR WALLONIA, not the TOR HOLLANDIA. Misidentification was identified in discussion at Talk page [[w:Tor Hollandia article]]. See this photo's File Talk page for links and more info. Positive Wallonia identification provided by discussion at a "shipspotters" forum, also linked from File Talk).}}
