Comparison of Hawaii's version of the Union Flag and the British version of the Union flag
[edit]The Union Flag on the Hawaii state flag is in 4:7.
Union Flags: British version: along the hoist is (equivalent to ratio 10/2/6/2/10) with diagonals (1/2/3).
Hawaii version: along the hoist is with diagonals as per the spec.
The strict interpretation can be seen in the file history.
Anyone actually seen a real Hawaii flag?

Colour bleed
[edit]@Mike Rohsopht: I am impressed with your dedication to eliminating colour bleed! You got it almost perfect, but there is still potential for colour bleed on this Flag. This will give you some fun for a Friday night (or Saturday morning):
- Open the native SVG file in gimp.
- When you are opening the file, a dialog box will pop up. Change the width and height from 1200×600 to 602×301.
- Zoom into the left end of the horizontal white/red boundary between the 1st and 2nd stripes in the upper right quadrant.
- Notice how some blue bleeds from the left; it gradually fades out over about 10 pixels.
You can virtually eliminate the issue (if you want to call it an issue) by running the hidden diagonal line at a 45° angle. This will require one extra node in the path.
Now this is getting extreme, but there is another issue where the horizontal blue/white boundary between the 3rd and 4th stripes in the upper right quadrant could be bluer than it should be. Of course I cannot prove it or see it! The possibility exists because you are butting white and blue together on top of an underlying layer of blue. Enjoy. But don't feel pressured into redoing the flag on my account! MapGrid (talk) 23:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- @MapGrid: Thank you for pointing out those issues. If you still find any else, please let me know. I think still have a lot to learn.--Mike Rohsopht (talk) 05:02, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
