Are the two images below of the same painting?

[edit]

Are the two images below of the same painting? There are noticeable differences. The two images I'm talking about are:

Date/Time Thumbnail Dimensions User Comment

No. 1. current 13:01, 21 May 2016 1,004 × 624 (290 KB) Mathsci (talk | contribs) Reverted to version as of 01:13, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

No. 2. revert 12:16, 21 May 2016 2,904 × 2,081 (3.6 MB) Mathsci (talk | contribs

Differences:

  1. No. 1 (1004x624) has many snowflakes over the whole scene. Could they have been added by a photo display system (Google Photos does this)?
  2. In No. 1 the frozen river is white, in No. 2 is is brown.
  3. in No. 1, left side, the trees behind the large white house roof show distinct branches. In No. 2, supposedly higher resolution, the trees branches are a gray indistinct mass.

On the other hand the structure of the images, the location and shape of objects and people, seem to be exactly the same.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ttulinsky (talk • contribs) 19:51, 6. December 2021‎ (UTC)
