Description and filename are likely to be somewhat wrong as the description at the source website says "Street scene, ca. 1948 - ca. 1955". --Túrelio (talk) 07:01, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Everything indicates that this photo was made just before File:Amsterdam shooting, May 7 1945.gif, which is a wellknown incident at the end of the war in Amsterdam. But I reuploaded a jpg over a gif file... is this a problem? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 07:05, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
1) What is "everything"? Do you really assume that the description at the official source of that image is wrong? 2) Surely not ideal, but I've seen that also in other cases without ever presenting a problem. Downloaders might only be somewhat surprised when they find a jpg on their drive, as they downloader a gif. --Túrelio (talk) 07:09, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The square brackets around "[street scene]" probably indicate that the image did not have an original caption. The dates are just taken from the period of this government agency's archives. And there is an attribution to Kryn Taconis, who just happened to make photos on the Dam Square that day. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 07:28, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
