Train ID

@Pi.1415926535: passengers might be boarding the Capitol Limited, but that's the Pennsylvanian on the right. I'm not sure I believe the exif time for the image. Per Amtrak Status Maps the Capitol Limited was late into Pittsburgh that morning. Even if you assume Wilson's camera is still on central time it doesn't quite add up. I could believe people detraining from the Capitol Limited and heading for the Pennsylvanian. Mackensen (talk) 13:56, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

@Mackensen: I can't get Amtrak status maps to display information from before 2016. Link? I do believe you're right though. This photo, which EXIF establishes was 45 minutes earlier (and even if EXIF is incorrect, the difference between photos is usually correct) shows both the Capitol Limited and the Pennsylvanian.

By the way, while I have your attention: Category:Passenger trains of Amtrak should be a metacat without individual files. Trains without IDs should be in Category:Unidentified Amtrak trains. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:10, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

@Mackensen: Looking at those files, I'm even more confused. The Cap arrived at 719, the Pennsylvanian departed at 730, and the Cap departed at 733 according to the ASM data. It looks like Wilson's camera was two hours behind - the 12:31 Pennsylvanian arrival at HBG is recorded at 10:31 - so 7:11 makes sense for passengers boarding the Pennsylvanian at Pittsburgh. So that implies that it's not the Cap at all in the picture I linked above. Perhaps just equipment being shifted around? Pi.1415926535 (talk) 20:42, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
