This is NOT Alexander Graham Bell. Do not use this photograph.
It is a still photograph from an early AT&T promotional film shot in the early 1920s showing an actor playing Bell speaking into a replica of an 1877 telephone.
Please delete this photo or indicate that it is NOT Bell.

- Well this is embarrassing. See AT&T promotional film linked on right hand side of this page; http://www.corp.att.com/history/ The actor in it is clearly the same man shown here. --Escape Orbit (talk) 19:52, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hello! I am attempting to track down this film, do you have any further information on it that would be helpful in my search? That link takes you to a modern AT&T site. It would mean a lot if you could give me ANYTHING further I could go off of to find this film. Babyaceinspace (talk) 23:34, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- Update: the movie frame image has been removed from some WP articles, and on the one remaining article its caption has been revised to note the use of an actor.
- Since the movie photo has achieved almost an almost iconic status, one suggestion would be to ask its copyright owner to license the image under the dual CC3.0/GFDL license. Once obtained the article captions would note the use of the actor's image. An alternate resolution would be to find a very similar photo of Bell talking into one of his early phones. Perhaps Edwin Grosvenor's staff could assist. Best: HarryZilber 16:23, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
