| Description |
Nederlands: Recreatiewoning 'Veerhuis' in Zoutkamp (Reitdiepskade 18a). Gebouwd in de 2e helft van de 20e eeuw (ergens na 1972) in bijna exact dezelfde stijl als het witgepleisterde 'Het Oude Veerhuis' dat daarvoor op deze plek stond en nooit als zodanig dienst heeft gedaan. In 1840 zat namelijk nog een bokkingheng (bokkingrokerij; voor het roken van haring) op deze plek (zie http://www.beeldbankgroningen.nl/content.php?Menu=resultaat&Submenu=detail&s[detail]=285923) en reeds in 1878 kwam de dijk gereed (werkzaamheden begonnen in 1873) waardoor de veerdienst overbodig werd. |
