Zincowoodwardite is a very rare zinc aluminum sulfate and is, as the name implies, the zinc analogue of woodwardite. The species was named about 20 years ago, and was first discovered at the Christiana Mine in the famous mining district of Lavrion, Greece. It's only found in about nine places in the world. This piece is from the type locality, and features gorgeous radial blue groups associated with serpierite on oxidized matrix. This piece is obviously a micro specimen, and we've photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. This piece is accompanied by a classic label from Josef Vajdak/Pequa Rare Minerals. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
