Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Zdenko (Zdeněk) Bergmann (* 25 August 1895 Pardubice - 24 October 1942 Mauthausen Concentration Camp) was a graduate of a business school and worked as a private clerk during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. He lived at Prague addresses (Prague II, Královské Vinohrady, number 397/12 and Slezská Street, number 1459/72, Prague 3 - Vinohrady). He was arrested in June 1942 because he was also identified as a collaborator (supporter) of the paratroopers of Operation Anthropoid. The wife of Zdenko Bergmann's sister's son gave a ladies bicycle to Vlastimil Moravec. He subsequently gave it to the paratrooper Staff Sergeant Jozef Gabčík. In absentia, Zdenko Bergmann was sentenced to death on 29 September 1942 by the martial court in Prague, which was carried out by a shot in the back of the head from a small-calibre pistol in the sniper's corner of the Mauthausen "bunker" on 24 October 1942 at 16.46 hours.
