Description
English: Flyer/poster for the 1900 "FIRST GRAND BALL" of the Young Mens Olympian association, New Orleans, to be held at corner of Perdido & Rampart Streets (Presumably at Oddfellows Hall aka "Eagle Saloon Building") 8 January 1900.

"Music by the Peoples' Favorite, Robichaux's Imperial Orchestra".

Text includes some slang of the era, eg: "Kill it kid for it is nothing but a cinch. Walk in to it for it is a lead pipe cinch. For that 3 O'clock Quadrille it all the go, When ever it is played by the old boy ROBICHAUX." "Come on and have this time, for the 8th is a legal holiday, so kill it, kid!"

Note: 8th of January locally celebrated as anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans, victory over British invasion in 1815.
