| Description |
English: Possibly the most magnificent part of the building, the Quire and East End are dominated by the enormous East Window. At 27 meters high and 13 meters wide, it is the size of a tennis court!
In 2016, the Minster finished the restoration of the East Facade and although most of the glass has been put back in, there is still a large section near the top of the window that remains clear glass. This makes the Minster's interior very tricky to shoot as large rays of sunlight can come through and overexpose the photograph, and this is why I shot in Black and White. York Minster - the largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe, and certainly the most magnificent building I've ever had the privilege of photographing. |
