Sometimes I just need a break from work, house and lawn projects, photo shoots, etc. so I head to a spot near the airport with a bunch of travel books in hand to relax and check out the air traffic into and out of Ted Stevens International Airport. I'm amazed that a city as small as Anchorage has such large volume of traffic and a lot of heavy jets too. We're at a crossroads between the Lower 48 and the Orient, so a lot of flights between the two stop here - and I am absolutely amazed at the number of Chinese Airlines that stop here. I took these photos in early July 2011. |
