Summary
[edit]DescriptionYakolev Yak-141 141 white (10124351036).jpg |
This was the third of four Yak-141s built and was the first to fly. The first two airframes were used for ground testing. The first flight took place in March 1987. At that time it was coded '75 white', although it was later recoded as '141 white', which is how it appeared at the 1992 Farnborough Airshow. By this time, the fourth aircraft '77 white' had also been recoded '141 white'. The fourth aircraft is currently on display at the Vadim Zadorozhny Technical Museum, although it is incorrectly marked as '75 white', which is actually this machine!! The Yak-141 was designed to replace the Yak-38, but never entered production. c/n 48-2. On display at the Russian Air Force Museum. Monino, Russia. 13-8-2012 |
