日本語: タイワンタケクマバチの羽と背中 名古屋市
Deutsch: Holzbiene (lat. Xylocopa) aus der Familie der Echten Bienen (lat. Apidae) — In Europa kommen acht Arten vor, in Mitteleuropa drei. Holzbienen sammeln Nektar von verschiedenen Pflanzen, bevorzugen jedoch Schmetterlingsblütler und Lippenblütler. Sie graben ihre Nestgänge meist in durch Pilzbefall bereits mürbes Totholz. Das Ei wird an der Längsseite eines als Nahrung für die Brut vorgesehenen Depots in der Brutzellen längs der Zellenwand abgelegt und besteht aus einer Mischung von Pollen, Kopfdrüsensekret und Nektar in Form eines Brotlaibes.
