Description

Women wearing crinolines which are set on fire by flames from a domestic fireplace. Coloured lithograph, ca. 1860.

Lettering: "Fire". The horrors of crinoline and the destruction of human life.

Lettering note: On the verso, a lithographed list of 54 prints, mostly on the subject of crinolines, available from the same publisher. One gives a terminus ante quem non for the present print: it showed the winner of the 1859 Derby.
