It lies at the tip of the long dark nebula Barnard 175 in a dusty complex that has also been called Wolf's Cave. At the center of this deep telescopic view, the cosmic apparitions are nearly 1,400 light-years away along the northern Milky Way in the royal constellation Cepheus. Interstellar dust in the region blocks light from background stars and scatters light from the embedded bright star, giving the end nebula its characteristic blue color. Though stars do form in molecular clouds, this star seems to have only accidentally wandered into the area, as its measured velocity through space is very different from the cloud's velocity. At the image bottom is the planetary nebula Dengel-Hartl 5, while red glowing gas from an ancient supernova remnant is also visible along the image's right side. The nebular complex VdB 152 is a very faint object in the direction of the constellation Cepheus. Although the name VdB 152 is used to refer to the entire nebula, in reality that catalog number refers only to the blue reflection nebula (center image). Instead, the reddish nebula at the bottom is the brightest part of LBN 528, which extends for about 30 light years, at an estimated distance of about 1300 al. While the color of the former is due to the blue star inside, the reddish color of LBN528 is mainly due to the red emission of dust clouds excited by the ultraviolet radiation of nearby stars. --- INSTRUMENTATION --- Telescope: Skywatcher evostar ed80 Chamber: Zwo Asi 294 mc Zwo Asi 294 mm Mount: Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 Autoguide: 60mm UltraGuide Artesky with zwo asi 224mc Concealer 0.85x ed80 skywatcher Optolong L-pro H-alpha filters Sgpro acquisition software ————— PHOTOS ———— temp 0 with dark, flat and darkflat it has 90 x 300s rgb 252 x 300s —— PROCESSING —— Pixinsight Photoshop |
