The stuffed animals depicted are the actual Harrods toys purchased for Christopher Milne in the early 1920's (the bear on August 21, 1921, the rest between 1920 and 1928). Attempts by historians and collectors to identify the original designers of these toys have not been successful (e.g. Martin, K. (2010). Farnell teddy bears.
