Rydal Mount is a living breathing witness to half an eon. Started in 1574 it has been added to, changed, expanded and contracted over the centuries. For now the heart is a central well with stairs leading this way & that to the myriad levels of its 27 rooms. Confusing and fabulous in equal measure it is both Wordsworth and Escher.
