Summary
[edit]DescriptionWhere the Hedon Haven meets the Humber - geograph.org.uk - 557091.jpg |
English: Where the Hedon Haven meets the Humber, south of Salt End, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This is close to where the former Hedon Haven meets the River Humber. The embankment was fortified several years ago with very heavy boulders to keep this very flat part of South West Holderness from flooding. On some high tides, the river level can be several feet higher than the surrounding land just on the other side of this embankment! Saltend Jetty can be seen in the background. The jetty serves the BP Chemical works nearby. |
