Description

Memorial, entrance porch, Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Windsor. For more on the sculptor, Edward Marshall, 'master mason to the Crown', see 217.204.55.158/henrymoore/sculptor/browserecord.php?-acti.... I believe I have transcribed the text on the tablet correctly. That being so, the lady seems to have died twice, in 1628 and 1666. But then she did other things by twos too - like having daughters with the same name. There are of course other shortcomings to it. I'll go back another time and get a better photo.

I like the fact that 'Resurgam' also appears on the new St Paul's Cathedral, following the destruction of Old St Paul's in the Fire of London, in 1666, a few months after this lady died.
