| Description |
English: What's left of the beach The previous day to this photo the beach was overtopped in many places due to a combination of a storm surge, spring tide and strong northerly winds. The pointed top of the beach each side of the actual breach are due to significant erosion along the whole length of the shingle ridge. There has been a reducing effort to build the ridge up as a sea defence - prior to a similar event in 1996 the beach was much higher and you could walk three abreast along the top. |
