Summary
[edit]DescriptionWestern Karakorams Aerial View.jpg |
English: Magnificent Karakoram ranges in Pakistan: The ridge in the foreground actually belongs to the Himalayas, west of Dofana. Indus valley lies behind it, separating the Himalayas from the Karakorams. The main ridge on the horizon belongs to the Rakaposhi-Haramosh Mountains, a subrange of the western Karakorams. Diran is about in the middle of the left half of the picture; Malubiting is in the middle of the right half of the picture (seems to be the highest peak in the whole picture). Miar and Phuparash peaks lie between them on the ridge. In the left half of the pictures there are the high summits of the Batura Muztagh topping over the ridge (Batura Sar and Passu Sar on the left of Diran and Shispare and Ultar Sar on the right of Diran). On the right of Malubiting there are some high peaks of the Hispar Muztagh: Momhil Sar and Trivor (and between them Spantik - belonging to the Spantik-Sosbun Mountains). On the far right there is the west ridge of Haramosh (main summit is out of the frame). On the far left the ridge would just start to rise again towards Rakaposhi. |
