Description
English: Weights, "Brass weights for grocer's scales" Letter from vendor lists 5 weights, total weight c.15 lbs. The largest is 7 inches high, the smallest is 2-3-4 inches high. Price 22-6 (scrap value of brass). Donor also wrote that "There was also a small brass bottle for fine balancing of the main beam, to hang on somewhere. small lead shot were put in a bottle the top of which was a screwed plug. This cannot be found." Letter from donor includes illustrations of weights.
