| Description |
Nederlands: Het oude parochiehuis van Den Hoorn (nu onderdeel van Wehe-den Hoorn; Groningen, Nederland). Gebouwd in 1873 (Alfred Tepe). De oude rooms-katholieke kerk ernaast werd in 1927 afgebroken en vervangen door een gebouw in de stijl van het parochiehuis. Het parochiehuis werd tevens gebruikt als de katholieke basisschool Sint-Ludgerus. Uitgebreid in 1879 (Tepe), 1921 (H. Havinga) en 1950 (Willem Reitsema). In de jaren 1980 werd het huis na de bouw van een nieuwe katholiek basisschool (Sint-Jozef) erachter gesloten en te huur gezet. Het bleef echter leegstaan. Een poging om er bejaardenwoningen van te maken in 1988 werd niet doorgezet. In 1989 kocht kunstenares Iti Pauptit het gebouw en verbouwde het tot huis met atelier. Het gebouw is sindsdien langzaam vervallen. In 2010 waren er plannen voor de restauratie van het pand, die dat jaar echter stukliepen omdat Pauptit niet wilde meewerken; zij zou dan het gebouw over moeten dragen aan een stichting, al mocht ze er wel blijven wonen tot haar dood (bron: Dagblad van het Noorden, 14 juli 2010, "Impasse rond restauratie voormalige school Wehe-den Hoorn", Geert Job Sevink). |
