Summary
[edit]DescriptionWeber-Dennison House, Buffalo, New York - 20200120.jpg |
English: The Weber-Dennison House, 190 Ashland Avenue at Hodge Avenue, Buffalo, New York, January 2020. Built c. 1890, the house is most notable for its unusual stylistic hodgepodge: the Shingle style is exemplified by the situation of the second- and third-story bedrooms above the porte-cochère and especially the casement window on that same portion of the façade, while the Queen Anne comes into play with the bay window at the center of the façade, and the cross gambrel roofs (speculated to be a later addition) are Dutch Colonial Revival elements. Biographical information about the house's first two owners, Mrs. Emilie C. Weber and Mr. John Dennison, is scant. |
