Students have been practizing several weeks for the Ball

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Seniors' Ball (in Finnish 'vanhojen tanssit') is a traditional feast celebrated by the second-year students of the high school. The Ball includes dressing up in full dresses and the feast culminates in an event called the Seniors' Ball (i.e. Old Ballroom Dances). It has similarities to the US prom.

The event is held in February when third-year high school students (the abi) end regular classes in order to prepare for their final exams, and the second year students become the oldest in the school. For the remainder of the school year, the second-year students are called vanhat ("the old", or " the seniors").

The day is one of the most important days for young people during their studies.
