It supplies water to Novaliches with four caves and tunnels are said to have been inhabited by the Japanese soldiers during the Second World War. The town's old name, Montalban, refers to its mountainous topography. It was also the town's official name from 1909, until Batas Pambansa Blg. 275 was passed in September 1982, which officially renamed the town. The town's official name is taken from the family name of Eulogio Rodriguez, Sr., [9] one of the most prominent Montalbeños. Rodriguez is politically subdivided into 11 barangays (7 urban, 4 rural).---------[N.B.
