| Description |
English: Watling Street, Redbourn. This 2000 year old highway is now very peaceful. It was once the A5, one of the major routes to the north, until it was bypassed, partly by the M1 and then by a local bypass [A5183]. A major contributor to the heavy traffic of the High Street were the lorries from the Bedfordshire brickworks taking vast quantities of bricks for the renewal and expansion of London. Like the traffic, the brickworks have also gone 767104. |
